Jaycees it is my honor to be your state president
for 2008. The board is excited and eager to
make 2008 a great year.
Growth
– Kentucky Jaycees we need to embrace the
personal and professional growth the organization
offers. The Jaycees offer a unique
opportunity that other clubs fail to offer.
We offer our members training; both on Jaycee
specific and non-Jaycee specific materials to
further our careers and lifestyles. We
offer competitions to build our resumes,
interview skills, debate skills, speak up skills,
and write up skills. We offer networking
within the community and state. Personal
growth and professional growth sets the Jaycees
apart. We build strong leaders!
Action
– Kentucky Jaycees we need to take action in
our local community. We need to create and
strengthen relationships with the local
government, schools, and other
organizations. The ties in the community
will enable the Jaycees to make an impact on the
community. The Jaycees should be the organization
of choice.
Membership
– The national average of a Jaycee is less
than two years. I look around this
organization and am amazed by that
statistic. I have been a member of this
organization for over 8 years. Looking
around at conventions and state sponsored events,
I see new faces but I also see familiar
faces. We need to embrace the Jaycee Family
and offer the experience to other
people.
Enthusiasm
- Enthusiasm creates energy and excitement.
It is contagious. When people see enthusiasm they
want to be a part of the action. Look at
your local chapter and ask yourself if the
president and board members create enthusiasm and
excitement. If so, continue on the current
path. If not, stand up, strike a match, and
watch the flame burn.
Opportunity
– As Kentucky Jaycees we have the
opportunity to make an impact. The tools
have been provided to you or are within your
reach. Embrace the opportunity before it
passes you by. The state board consists of
people who are eager to make your local chapter
strong.
Now
– There is no time like the present.
If you want to be a leader among your peers now
is the time to step up. What are you
waiting for?
